Our Curriculum
During their time at pre-school all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. Our curriculum is tailored to the needs of each individual child, and by working both in small and large groups, prepares children to progress with confidence through the foundation stage. (Age three years to the end of reception).
We work within a framework for children’s learning, development & care called the Early Years Foundation Stage. The aim of EYFS is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes to:- - Be healthy
- - Stay safe
- - Enjoy and achieve
- - Make positive contribution
- - Achieve economic well being
The areas of learning and development which we base our observations and planning on are the Three Prime Areas:
1. Personal, Social & Emotional Development (PSED)
2. Physical (P)
3. Communication & Language (C&L)
There are also Four Specific Areas:
1. Literacy (L)
2.Mathematics (M)
3. Understanding the World (UW)
4. Expressive Arts & Design (EAD)
